Note from Jacqueline Ashmore, NEWIEE Gala Chair and Board Member
NEWIEE’s Awards Gala is an annual celebration of the vast accomplishments of woman across New England in the environment and energy sectors. I can still vividly recall the first NEWIEE gala I attended, when I was relatively new to the energy sector, and how I was dazzled by the description of the impact of that year’s award winners: Sue Tierney, Sue Coakley, Mary Beth Gentleman, and Rebecca Tepper. It truly inspired me, and helped me have confidence that I could flourish professionally in this sector.
Each year, NEWIEE recognizes four women who have notable professional achievements and who also actively support the development and advancement of their junior colleagues. Our awardees may work in the environmental, traditional energy, or clean energy sectors. They may work in any of the New England states. This year, for the second time, one of our awardees will be a “Rising Star” – someone who has had an impact having worked in the field for ten years or less.
Who do you know who is deserving of recognition? Please take a moment to nominate them, using our online form. Also, please spread the word and encourage your colleagues to nominate someone.
Applications are due by 5 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017.
We look forward to reading your nomination of the colleague(s) who inspire you!
