Mary Ellen currently serves as Vice President, ISO, Siting and Compliance for Eversource Energy, responsible for leadership and direction of NERC compliance, ISO policy, economic planning, siting, interconnections and construction services for Eversource’s transmission business across Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
Previously Mary Ellen served as Director, Strategy & Performance at National Grid for the electric transmission, wholesale natural gas, and electric generation businesses; Vice President, Transmission Regulation and Commercial; Corporate Strategy Manager at National Grid in London, United Kingdom and has held roles in tariffs and system planning and engineering.
Mary Ellen has been a representative on numerous industry committees on reliability, energy policy, and electricity markets, and served as Chair of the Edison Electric Institute’s Energy Delivery executive advisory committee (2013 – 2015). She was Vice-Chair of the Transmission Owners caucus for the US Department of Energy’s Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative, and elected NEPOOL Vice-Chair and Chair of the New England Transmission Owners Committee.
Mary Ellen holds a master’s degree in electric power engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. She is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts. Mary Ellen lives outside Boston with her husband and teenage daughter and son. She enjoys fitness activities, gardening and cooking, and all things musical.
